"Luigi Biangardi first to join Championship Winning F2000 Team ArmsUp Motorsports for 2012 USF2000 Season"
ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – ArmsUp Motorsports, fresh off winning the 2011 SCCA Formula Continental National Championship, has signed Luigi Biangardi to lead their Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda effort for the 2012 Season. Biangardi, a 15 year-old, will pilot the ArmsUp Motorsports prepared Gulfstream Properties, Inject-it.com backed No. 15 car in his quest to claim the 2012 USF2000 National Championship.
2012 will mark Biangardi's first full season in the USF2000 Championship after gaining experience with a limited schedule in 2011. The Chicago teenager was quick to make an impression on the series regulars by scoring a season best fourth place result at the Baltimore Grand Prix. Biangardi will look to build on that experience to contend for race wins from the start of the season. Before entering the Mazda Road to Indy Biangardi competed in the Skip Barber race series scoring multiple regional series wins and claiming a fourth place finish at Road America in his lone Skip Barber National Championship event.
