Jose Paredes Scores Formula Atlantic Win at the Kettle Moraine Double Regional

Posted on August 17, 2011

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – ArmsUp Motorsports scored a win and a podium finish last weekend during the SCCA Kettle Moraine Double Regional at Road America. Jose Paredes claimed the Formula Atlantic (FA) race win on Sunday with John Dickmann adding a third place result in the Formula Continental (FC) class.

Dickmann ran both races during the double header weekend. In qualifying for Saturday's race one Dickmann lined up fifth in the FC class. During the 11 lap run Dickmann was able to advance one spot to the fourth position.

Paredes was only able to enter the second day of events due to a scheduling conflict. The Chicago area driver was able to make the most of his seat time though. Qualifying in the third position in the FA class, Paredes took advantage of an on track incident to promote himself to the lead where he would stay until the checkered claiming his first win of the season. Dickmann also put in a spirited drive, jumping into the third spot at the start. Holding off the fourth place driver for the first few laps. Dickmann eventually fell back into the fourth place but crossed the line third after gaining back the position around the races midway point.

"It was a very good weekend for both Jose and John," ArmsUp owner Gregg Borland said after the weekend. "For Jose to come home with a win and John a podium is a great way for both of them to end their 2011 race campaigns."

ArmsUp Motorsports is back out at Road America again this weekend. Running in the Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered By Mazda national class. Leading the teams pro charge will be Revere Greist who will be joined by Rick Balsley and Jim Victor.
