ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – ArmsUp Motorsports and Revere Greist put in a dominant performance during this weekend's SCCA June Sprints only to see
victory slip away on the final lap. Greist had the Formula Continental victory in hand until a lapped car caused the ArmsUp Motorsports driver to
spin less than half a lap from the finish. Recovering quickly from the spin Greist was able to bring the car home on the podium leading another
strong Road America showing for the Elkhart Lake based squad.
The five car ArmsUp Motorsports fleet showed well in each session during the June
classic. After the two qualifying sessions Greist claimed his second straight June Sprints pole by half a second over the second place car of former
National Champion Brian Tomasi. Kirk Kindsfater who was making his first start with a Zetec powered FC car lined up seventh on the grid in the second
ArmsUp entry followed by his teammate Rick Balsley whose form improved throughout the entire weekend. Jim Victor continued to work with his new RFR
chassis and lined up just outside the top-ten in 11th. John Dickmann who was making his second race start of the year was 17th in the 20 car FC
field.
The Formula Continental race was all Greist from the start. The driver of the number 56 car took off and steadily built up a four
second advantage on the second place runner of Niki Coello. On the final lap Greist spun while trying to negotiate a lapped Formula Atlantic car
which allowed Coello to inherit the lead and the win. Greist was able to get the car headed back in the right direction and finish the race in the
second position.
Kirk Kindsfater was in line for a top-five result running in the fifth position with two to go in his first race with the
Zetec power plant. Unfortunately an alternator bracket failure would leave his car powerless, forcing the Colorado driver off the track. Taking full
advantage of their teammates' misfortune were Rick Balsley and Jim Victor. Balsley who started eighth claimed a career best June Sprints finish of
fifth. Victor, a former June Sprints pole sitter, had his best run to date with his RFR chassis advancing five positions from his 11th starting
position to claim a sixth place result. John Dickmann turned his fastest laps of the season in the race and moved up to the 12th position at the
checkered flag.
Jose Paredes made his first SCCA National start of the year in the Formula Atlantic category. The Chicago resident qualified
in the 12th position and was able to pass two cars en route to a ninth place finish.
"Once again we proved that we have some of the fastest
cars in Formula Continental," team owner Gregg Borland stated after the event. "I know Revere is disappointed, and so are we, but this happens in
racing and now we are looking forward to our next event. All the guys in the crew did a fantastic job. I think we have found a really strong package
for Kirk (Kindsfater) and that should pay dividends over the next few races. Rick (Balsley), Jim (Victor) and John (Dickmann) all drove great this
weekend and I am happy with their results. I want to thank all of our friends and family who came out to support us this weekend."

Motorsports now heads out west with Kirk Kindsfater. The Colorado driver will compete in the July Freedom Sprints Dbl National at the High Plains
Raceway in Deer Trail, Colorado over the holiday weekend.
